McCormack, Jr. , , `1 360 �9p Attorney General ALJ State House, Boston 33 , Mass. 41 - Dear Sir:- Article 32 of our Annual Town Meeting held on March 7, 1960 .,was voted upon as follows: Article 32 with amendments made to it : Chapter 1 � TOWN MEETINGS AND ELECTION OF OFFICERS Article I. TO+1N MEETINGS „ . Section 1. The annual Town meeting for the appropriation of mosey and all other matters which shall properly come before it shall be held on the first Monday in March at 7:00 0-M. in each year, at such place as the selectmen may determine. The election of -officers shall be held on the succeeding;,fitdednesday. . The Selectmen shall insert in the warrant forthe annual me6tings all articles,, petitions for which, signed by ten or more legal voters , shall be delivered to the selectmen, or either a of them, or the Town Clerk, on or before the twentieth day of January in each year, but the selectmen may insert in said warrant any articla .or articles received by them after said twentieth day of January, if in their judgment it is advisable so to do , and whenever it is possible , shall., before calling a special town meeting, insert in some newspaper published in town a notice specifying the last day upon which articles to be inserted in the warrant for such meetings shall be presented to the selectmen or Town Clerk. The warrant for the annual meeting shall also designate the -down officers who are to be chosen by ballot , and their respective terms of office. Section 2. The Selectmen shall cause to be published in the local newspaper at least seven days before any annual or special Town Meetings the recommendations and estioates of all committees (except the finance committee) relating to the expenditure of money upon which action is to be taken, in addition to the articles included in the warrant. Section 3. CONDUCT OF TOWN MEETINGS: (a) The articles shall be considered in the order in which they appear in the warrant. Articles referred from previous town meetings shall take an early place in the warrant. Other articles shall be grouped together in accordance with the requests of the respective towndepartments or committees under whose direction the action called for in such articles is proposed to be executed. (b) All articles requiring more than a majority vote for favorable action, shall be placed in the warrant next following the articles re ferred from previous town meetings. (c) The main body of the house shall be reserved for register voters; all others are to be seated in another section.
