f .. <br /> 4.4 No building shall be erected except on a lot fronting <br /> on a street iand there shall be not more than one prin- <br /> cipal building on any lot, except as allowed under this <br /> By-Law. <br /> 4.5 Land within the lines of a street on which a lot abuts <br /> shall not be counted as part of such lot for the purpose <br /> of meeting the area requirements of this By-Law even <br /> though the fee to such land may be in the owners <br /> _'. of abutting lots. <br /> 4.6 Any land taken by eminent domain, or conveyed for <br /> a public purpose for which the land could have been <br /> taken by eminent domain, shall notdbe deemed to be <br /> transferred, in violation of the land area, width, and <br /> space provisions of this By-Law. <br /> 4.7 Construction or operations under a building permit or <br /> special permit shall conform to any subsequent amend- <br /> ment of the Zoning By-Law unless the use or con- <br /> struction is commenced within a period of not more <br /> than six months after the issuance of the permit and <br /> in cases involving construction, unless such construc- <br /> tion is continued through to completion as continuously <br /> and expeditiously as is reasonable. <br /> I <br /> ri <br /> II <br /> �.' SECTION 5: <br /> NON-CONFORMING BUILDINGS AND USES <br /> 5.1 Any lawful use of any structure or land or both may <br /> be continued although not conforming with the pro- <br /> visions of this By-Law, but no such lawfully non- <br /> conforming use shall be changed, intensified, extended <br /> or enlarged.in any manner except as permitted by the <br /> Board of Appeals -and such permission shall be based <br /> on the same conditions as set forth in Section 6.2 of <br /> this By-Law and further provided the board finds there <br /> is adequate land area to provide sufficient parking and <br /> setbacks as may be required, and further provided that <br /> the Board finds that such change, intensification, ex- <br /> tension or enlargement shall not be substantially more <br /> detrimental than the existing nonconforming use to <br /> the neighborhood. <br /> 11 <br /> t <br />
