The taxes , interest, and costs transferred to the tax <br /> title account- were checked with the collector' s records, and the redemptions <br /> ' of tax titles and the sales of lands of low value were checked with the <br /> treasurer' s cash book. The tax titles on hand were listed, reconciled <br /> with the accountant ' s ledger, and compared with the records at the <br /> Registry of Deeds. <br /> The books and accounts of the tax collector were examined and <br /> checked. The taxes and motor vehicle and trailer excise outstanding at <br /> ' the time of the previous examination, as well as all subsequent commitments, <br />
