TOWN OF MASHPEE
BOARD OF HEALTH
March 17, 1999
Meeting was called to order at 7:07 p.m.
Members present: Robert F. Cram, Sr., Steven R. Ball, John T. Doherty, Elias A.
McQuaid and.Veronica A. Mayer
THE TAPE IS NOT PART OF THE MEETING; IT IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF
TRANSCRIPTION ONLY.
Mr. Robert F. Cram, Sr., Chairman
1. Sign warrants
2. Approve minutes of February 4, 1999. No minutes received to date.
Approve minutes of March 4, 1999. Mr. Ball motioned to accept the minutes of
March 4, 1999. Mr. Doherty seconded, all agreed.
3. Letter from Green Seal re: Consulting Services. Board decided to keep the letter
on file. Board acknowledged.
4. Weston & Sampson bi-monthly inspection report. Board acknowledged.
5. Variance request: 288 Simons Narrows Road. A request for a variance from the
minimum separation distance between a well and soil absorption system has
been requested by Joseph Harvey, engineer. The plan proposes a variance of
42'from the existing well on Lot 41 and 48'from the proposed well for Lot 3.
Mr. Doherty motioned to approve the variances as requested. Mr. Ball
seconded, all agreed.
Mr. McQuaid added, "I have left a message for Mr. Harvey. I feel that the cover
letter needs to be more accurate. If you look at the plans, we need to know
whether Lot 40 is vacant. It does state that Lot 2 is vacant, but we don't know
about Lot 40 or Lot 4. If those are vacant, then it's fine, but if there are wells,
we need to locate them."
Mr. Doherty motioned to grant the amended variance with the stipulation that
the engineer submit revised plans delineating the location of all wells within
300'. Mr. Ball seconded, all agreed on the amended variance.
Variance request: 84 Punkhorn Point Road. The Board decided to hold off on
discussion of this variance until a representative from Cape and Islands
Engineering appears due to the complex nature of the plan.
