Proposal from Brockton Iron & Steel re: White Goods Disposal
Mr. McQuaid stated, "Brockton Iron & Steel is trying to develop a route so that
if one town doesn't have enough for a full load he can then continue on to the
next town. We would be on a rotating cycle if we agreed to participate. He's not
offering to pay anyone but he will pick up the white goods with freon at no
charge. Sandwich gets paid $15.00/ton because they deliver the items to
Brockton Iron & Steel."
Ms. Mayer stated, "We are paying to get rid of the tin cans. But we have paid
for refrigerators with freon units. We're really not getting anything."
Mr. Cram added, "I think the first thing we need to do is to get some figures on
how much it's going to cost to transport the white goods to Brockton Iron &
Steel. Let's get an estimate of how much the contractor would charge to haul
the items to Brockton Iron & Steel before we make any decisions."
Mr. Ball stated, "We shouldn't even consider hauling it."
Mr. Cram stated, "I'd like to know the dollar amount before a decision is made."
