3 <br /> Mr. Slavinsky then introduced the homeowners, Mr. Maxwell and Mrs. Linda <br /> Gates. Mr. Slavinsky then stated to the homeowners that the tank would be <br /> removed and new tank would be placed in the ground at the cost of$7500.00 with <br /> a F.A.S.T. system. <br /> Ms. Warden then stated that there was a perc test done in 1983. The results <br /> showed that they had clay, silty loam at 5' and water encountered at 6'. She <br /> stated that these results might influence their decision regarding the request for <br /> the denitrification system. <br /> Mr. Slavinsky then stated that they didn't in fact know where that perc was done. <br /> He stated that the front of the lot is 5.5' then it goes to 6` and then 8'. He believes <br /> that the lot was built up which is good. <br /> Mr. Ball stated that is was a 15,000 square foot lot and the homeowners are <br /> adding another bedroom. This is a cause for concern to him. <br /> Mr. Slavinsky argued that they are not going to admit that this request is for a <br /> bedroom. They are going along with Mr. Ball's definition that adding the bathroom <br /> constitutes adding a bedroom. They are willing to add the denitrification system. <br /> Mr. Ball stated that if they are willing to add the denitrification system he didn't <br /> have a problem with this request. He made a motion to grant the request. <br /> Mr. Gates interjected with a question stating that there was something in the <br /> system. He thought he already had a denitrification system. <br /> Mr. Slavinsky went into a bit of detailed explanation repeating what he had <br /> already stated regarding the intended septic system. <br /> Mr. Ball reiterated that his original motion still stands, Mr. Santos seconded it. <br /> The conversation continued with Mr. Slavinsky and the BOH members regarding <br /> whether or not there were variances with this request. Mr. Slavinsky stated that <br /> he was not asking for any variances. Mr. Ball stated this was a variance situation <br /> due to the installment of the denitrification system plus the ground water issue. <br /> Mr. Slavinsky reiterated that he is not sure that he wanted to ask for a variance to <br /> ground water. <br /> Ms. Warden stated that you have to get approval from the BOH for denitrification. <br /> Mr. Ball stated that they just gave that approval. <br /> Ms. Warden stated that nothing has been submitted on paper for approval. This <br /> was a verbal approval. <br /> Mr. Ball stated that the approval was so conditioned that the plans will be <br /> submitted with the verbally previously agreed upon conditions.
