Design Review -2- January 22, 1997
3 . Northside Design Funeral Home, Route 151
Messrs. Gordon Clark, Arty Ojoah, and Robert Studley
were in attendance for a preliminary discussion
regarding a proposed Doane Beal & Ames funeral home on
Route 151 west of the police and fire stations, across
from the Catholic Church. Plans showed a ground level
building with a basement.
A DPW traffic study has not yet been done. it was
suggested the DPW Director be consulted regarding a
curb cut and traffic flow.
Preliminary guidance was requested on lighting,
landscaping, colors, weathered shingles, parking, and
sign design. The applicants stated their willingness
to abide by all restrictions. They were advised to
present very detailed plans.
The projected number of services in the first year are
35 - 40 per year and possibly as many as 150 services
per year in ten years.
It was suggested a paved parking lot is preferred to a
stone one. There is room for expansion on parking, if
necessary.
Meeting adjourned at 7 :25 p.m.
NEXT SCHEDULED MEETING: Wednesday, February 12, 1997 .
Respectfully submitted,
Jane A. Pierce,
Recording Secretary
