Mashpee Design Review Committee / - 6o-5
TO% G PMibu`tei f Meeting Held Wednesday,July 24, 2002 / - 1 6 /Yn,-1 I N ERKMashpee Town Hall Meeting Room 3 2 - P
02 NuG 22 PFS 12: 21
Committee Members Present: Mary LeBlanc, Walter Yarosh,Russell Wheeler, and
Thomas O'Hara. Also present: Jamie Regan(for Edward Govoni ).
The meeting was called to order at 9:30 a.m.
Christ the King Church
Rose Simpson explained they'd like to place 2 "temporary" signs on church property and that
this is something they've been trying to do for 2-1/2 years. One sign would be in front of the
Church on Job's Fishing Road; other sign to be at 151 site.
Following discussion,Rose was informed:
1. Can't apply for temporary sign for more than 30 days and their plans far exceed this
30-day limitation; and
2. For location of sign on Rt. 151, sign must be located on Church property. Need site
Plan to show where it is to be located. Rose will talk to Mashpee Commons re site
Plan for 1.51.
Conclusions:
• Sign, itself, is okay.
• Requested Site Plan showing sign on front site at Job's Fishing road is to be
submitted to Russ and then 30-day temporary sign for that site to be issued.
• Return with site plan for sign on 151.
Mashpee Wine& Spirits
Jeff Fields stated he already applied to Board of Appeals for variance to have this sign, and
he is here pending Board of Appeals decision. Request: to place directional sign on Echo
Road.
Following were pointed out to Mr. Fields:
• Off-property sign(since he doesn't own the property).
• By-Law does not allow off-site directional sign.
• This case not enough of a special need—for instance,emergency services—to have
directional sign.
Conclusion: Not approved.
Jeff Fields then noted as a"Plan B"he already submitted an application for sign on the
backside of his building. He showed copy of the layout.
