He said applicant came before us a few
months ago and was told to go to the Board of Selectmen. They did; not all permits were in place so
the Board of Selectmen referred them back to Design Review.
Mr. Buckley made the following points as part of his presentation:
• 5 signs in question-3 signs are same as what was already there.
• Sign saying New Seabury 500 feet ahead is 5 feet wide and 19 inches high. He said it is same
size as existing sign; going in same location.
• Great Oak Road sign they moved and now sign will be on their property. Size: 5 feet by 28
inches.
• Regarding 4.4b and 4.4a...Dan Buckley said on their property; same size sign but they added
Cape Cod Holiday Estates to the sign. Walter commented that it is okay for directional sign to
New Seabury and then within New Seabury they can put directional/ad-type signs.
Conclusions:
• Signs to be same size as existing size—measure from outside post to outside post and
use same wording.
• Mashpee Rotary/South Cape Beach directional sign is okay if they want to do it. This is
a new sign. They are not 5 feet back from property line, but Mr. Buckley said they are
going to move the sign so it is 5 feet back from property line.
• 2.1...Sign is fine.
• 4.3...Only New Seabury main entrance on sign.
• 4.4a...Can have Cape Cod Holiday Estates on sign, but no advertising.
4.4b...Sign is fine.
• 5.5...Fine as is.
• 5.6...Advertising to be taken off.
• 7.1...Has to be same size measuring outside post to outside post and is to be 5 feet off
the property line. Has to go back to Board of Selectmen.
Applicant will prepare and provide a revised Plan that will be attached to the minutes of
this meeting and will go to the Selectmen.
