Mashpee Design Review Committee <br /> Minutes of Meeting Held Thursday, May 27, 2010 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall Meeting Room 3 <br /> Pre and Robert Nelson. <br /> Committee Members sent: Thomas O'Hara, Tom Jalowy, e <br /> Also Present: Richard Stevens. <br /> Absent: George Petersen, Jr. <br /> Thomas O'Hara called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. <br /> Signs <br /> CVS Pharmacy <br /> 38 Nathan Ellis Highway <br /> Jason Parillo <br /> Jason Parillo appeared and said the main thing the proposed signage is doing is to increase the size <br /> and type of signage for 3 signs at CVS. He said 2 of the existing signs would be replaced; and 1 is a <br /> new sign. He said they are asking to change the existing 2 signs to halo-lit signs and the new sign for <br /> the south elevation would also be halo-lit. There will be no direct lighting. Tom O'Hara asked Mr. <br /> Parillo how he calculated the measurements of the front wall. Mr. Parillo responded that he did not <br /> do the calculations but used calculations that were provided to him. Richard Stevens advised that he <br /> had called and explained that the calculations were incorrect. <br /> Tom O'Hara commented that he would rather not see letters on white backboard. Tom Jalowy added <br /> that he does not like billboard look at all. Bob Nelson-added-that he thinksthesign facing the-parking— — <br /> lot is over-kill. Tom O'Hara advised that Design Review only approves signage up to 20 square feet. <br /> Signage beyond that goes to Board of Appeals for review and approval. <br /> CONCLUSION: JASON PARILLO SAID HE WILL RECALCULATE THE MEASUREMENTS AND <br /> BRING SIGNAGE BACK FOR REVIEW. HE SAID HE WILL PASS ALONG THE INFORMATION <br /> THAT COMMITTEE FEELS IT IS BETTER TO MOUNT ON THE BUILDING, RATHER THAN ON <br /> BACKBOARD. <br /> Starfish Restaurant <br /> 20 Joy Street <br /> Tyler Haves <br /> Tyler Hayes presented 2 signs he is proposing to attach to the building...one on Joy Street side and <br /> one on the new road that's being put in. Tom O'Hara asked him about considering using the blade <br /> sign; Mr. Hayes said they prefer using signage on the building. <br /> Tom O'Hara pointed out to Mr. Hayes that they have product signage on their awnings and <br /> unfortunately Mashpee does not allow product on signage. Tom O'Hara said the signage on the <br /> awning has to go to the ZBA. <br />
