ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> MARCH 26, 1996 <br /> Members Present: Tom Potts, Paul Reynolds. <br /> Also Present: Wayne Duchemin, ED Coordinator <br /> Steve Kyros <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7: 15 p.m. <br /> The Minutes of March 12, 1996 were passed over due to a lack <br /> of quorum. <br /> Wayne stated that $5, 959 is remaining in the EDC budget to date. <br /> He would like to run an ad in a trade journal or boating magazine <br /> to attract businesses like C-Map to Mashpee. Wayne will be <br /> meeting this week with the Boston Real Estate broker who has <br /> been hired by Augat to market their building. Steve Innis, <br /> Paul Reynolds, Tom Potts, and Wayne recently walked through <br /> the Augat facility. Steve Kyros expressed an interest in <br /> attending this meeting with the realtor; Steve will also get <br /> sworn in at Town Hall the same day. Wayne finished the 99 <br /> Restaurant letter and will be sending it out tomorrow. Wayne <br /> distributed a letter from Gloria Dube expressing an interest <br /> to serve on EDC. Wayne noted other potential members for EDC, <br /> Cynthia Green of the Soup Kitchen (Mt. Auburn' s recommendation) <br /> and Mike Schmidt, owner of a Mayflower Trucking franchise in <br /> the Sandwich/Bourne area. Wayne noted that Charlie Connelly <br /> from Falmouth expressed interest in a turn key building in the <br /> Mashpee Industrial Park. (He is also looking at Plymouth. ) <br /> Wayne would like to put in writing all the amenities Mashpee <br /> is willing to offer, make a copy, and keep it on file for our <br /> marketing effort. Wayne further reported that Anthony <br /> Ferragamo' s property was sold to May Institute; Tom asked Wayne <br /> to send them a welcome letter. Wayne would like to begin the <br /> marketing aspect, developing a lead list, brainstorming to market <br /> the community, identify the means and target the community. <br /> He plans. to meet with Dr. DeMoura to promote the aquaculture <br /> program and navigational/high tech program (cartography) . <br /> Wayne distributed a copy of a draft job description of the <br /> Economic Development Coordinator position prepared by Marilyn <br /> Farren. He also distributed a draft of the Annual Report of <br /> the Economic Development Committee which describes what EDC <br /> accomplished this year and their future direction. He asked <br /> EDC to review it and call him with comments. <br /> The Mt. Auburn Report meeting has not yet been scheduled. <br /> Wayne has not heard anything regarding the Web Page since the <br /> changes were submitted. <br />
