ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES APRIL 23, 1996 Members present: Tom Potts , Paul Reynolds, Ted Lewis , Steve Innis , Steve Kyros, Gloria Dube, Nelson Andrews . Also present: Wayne Duchemin, EDC Coordinator The meeting was called to order at 7: 00 p.m. in the home economics room at Mashpee Middle School . The Minutes of March 12 , 1996 , March 26 , 1996 , and April 9, 1996 were accepted as presented. Paul Reynolds made a motion that EDC recommend to the Selectmen Rev. Cynthia Green as an EDC alternate member, seconded by Ted Lewis. Unanimous. Wayne will forward a letter to the Selectmen. EDC discussed whether alternate members vote . It was decided that the Chairman would make the decision which alternate would vote in place of a member when a quorum is needed. Ted Lewis made a motion to ratify the appointment of Paul Reynolds as EDC Co-Chairman. Gloria Dube seconded; majority approved. Tom Potts abstained. Paul Reynolds made a motion to ratify the purchase of a marketing list from Compiler' s Plus in the amount of $200. Tom Potts seconded; majority approved. Steve Kyros abstained. Nelson asked Wayne to send him any information that relates to property transactions. EDC members designated which area( s ) of the Organizational Structure they will chair or serve as members . - Gloria Dube will chair Education and serve on Marketing - Nelson Andrews will serve on Marketing (appropriate new business development ) - Tom Potts will chair the Augat task force - Ted Lewis will serve on Education and the Industrial Park - Paul Reynolds is uncommitted to any one subcommittee but will help anyone where needed - Steve Kyros will chair Business Outreach and serve on Industrial Park EDC will ask Rick York to chair Aquaculture. Wayne would like to get the key persons from each area together to brainstorm; Wayne will give technical support while the Chairperson maintains the focus. Wayne would like to start with Marketing, Education and Augat.
