r , <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> MAY 28, 1996 <br /> The EDC meeting was called to order at 7 : 08 p.m. at the Senior <br /> Center. <br /> Members present were: Paul Reynolds , Ted Lewis , Sharon <br /> Koblinsky , Steve Innis, Tom Potts . <br /> Alternate members present were: Gloria Dube , Steve Kyros. <br /> Also present was Wayne Duchemin, EDC Coordinator. <br /> The Minutes of May 14 , 1996 were accepted with one change. <br /> The parking layout during Town Hall renovation was distributed. <br /> Wayne received various proposals and prices for trade journal <br /> ads. He and Steve Kyros will review them and give a report <br /> at the next meeting . Wayne called Augat Headquarters to tell <br /> them how difficult it has been contacting their broker, Boston <br /> Real Estate Partners, to coordinate their efforts. Wayne saw <br /> the brochure they prepared and was disappointed. Steve Kyros <br /> suggested EDC convince the broker to place an ad in trade <br /> journals, prepare a quality brochure with a map and full <br /> description, and do mailings to other major commercial brokers. <br /> Wayne will contact the broker directly to find out what has <br /> been done and what their future plan of action is. Tom Potts <br /> suggested an Augat ad be placed in Mashpee' s Guidebook and <br /> advertise the Mashpee Guidebook in newspapers and trade journals . <br /> Steve Kyros stated the Guidebook works as a marketing tool <br /> since it attracted him to briny his business to Mashpee. A <br /> map of Mashpee and Cape Cod could be inserted. Sharon suggested <br /> including names of other businesses who have recently come to <br /> Mashpee. C-Map would be a good example to include in the ad <br /> and state their reasons for coining to Mashpee. Sharon suggested <br /> creating an ad for the brochure and send it to Commercial Real <br /> Estate Brokers. Sharon further suggested contacting Boston <br /> Real Estate Brokers face to face and find out what ads they <br /> already placed to avoid any overlap. Tom suggested EDC meet <br /> next Tuesday to talk about Augat marketing strategy with the <br /> Boston Real Estate Brokers and an Augat representative present. <br /> Wayne will contact both to invite them to this meeting. <br /> Wayne will verify the balance in the FY96 budget at next <br /> Tuesday ' s meeting; it is estimated the amount is $1, 000 - $1 , 500. <br /> Toru reported on the Industrial Park meeting with Cape Cod <br /> Commission. Ben Gordon who owns property in the Industrial <br /> Park spoke at the meeting and reviewed the issues. Pre-permitting <br /> is still up in the air. The intent is to look at the property <br />
