ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> FEBRUARY 13, 1996 <br /> Members Present: Tom Potts, Steve Innis, Paul Reynolds, <br /> Ted Lewis (Sharon Koblinsky absent) . <br /> Also Present: Wayne Duchemin, ED Coordinator <br /> The meeting was called to order at 8: 00 p.m. <br /> The Minutes of January 23 , 1996 were accepted as presented. <br /> Steve distributed a copy of a letter to Bob Whritenour re: EDC' s <br /> FY96-97 Budget request and an itemized list of planned projects <br /> totaling $23,075. This included $17 ,000 for the staffing of <br /> the ED Coordinator' s office. It was decided to group Monthly <br /> Seminars and the Mentoring Program on the list. EDC was in <br /> agreement with this budget request, and further action will <br /> be taken at the next meeting. <br /> Wayne distributed the Mashpee Home Web Page Proposal from <br /> Elizabeth Miller, Maxm Consulting. The costs for creating <br /> several pages came to $999.00. Tom stated that EDC voted for <br /> one page to cost up to $500, and the Committee did not want <br /> the data base included. Paul suggested having four "Introduction <br /> to Mashpee" pages to include: (1) Guide for Business (with <br /> option to acquire a copy) , (2 ) Guest Book, ( 3 ) Mashpee benefits, <br /> ( 4) Welcome page. Paul further stated that costs could be <br /> reduced with his help, and he offered to do the Guidebook. <br /> Paul then made a motion to rebid the job for the four recommended <br /> pages (as noted above) , seconded by Steve. Unanimous. Paul <br /> will write up an estimate for Wayne to give to Maxm; Paul <br /> estimated the cost to be around $417. <br /> Wayne stated that Steve Kyros expressed an interest in becoming <br /> an EDC member or alternate. Tom asked Wayne to have Mr. Kyros <br /> write a letter of interest to the Selectmen. Tom further asked <br /> Wayne to write a letter of recommendation from EDC welcoming <br /> Mr. Kyros as an alternate. <br /> EDC received a correspondence from the Board of Appeals re: <br /> variance requests from the 99 Restaurant. Wayne will send a <br /> letter of welcome and inform the 99 Restaurant owner about our <br /> employment pool. <br /> Wayne distributed an article entitled "Virtual Cape Seen on <br /> the Web," the Home page of the Mashpee Chamber of Commerce. <br />
