MASHPEE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENVINDUSTRIAL CORP. MINUTES
MAY 20, 2008
Present: Joe Noonan, Robyn Simmons, Bob Cobuzzi, Mary LeClair, Brian Kehrl from the
Mashpee Enterprise.
Absent: Rene Read, Bob Walsh, Terrie Cook, Joe Anastos.
Joe Noonan chaired and opened the meeting at 6:05 p.m.
The Minutes of May 6, 2008 were approved as amended.
Joe noted that the new member, Joe Anastos, has now missed a third meeting since his
appointment. Joe recommended we accept the next candidate, Elizabeth Curtain.
h Selectmen r will be run b the Se ectn to make sure there are no e
The grant application draft Tette y
problems. There will be a 5 percent cash contribution expected by the Town, and it is important
to inform the Selectmen about the use of the funds. Robyn will talk to Dan Dray and ask him to
review the letter first.
Rene needs to continue to review the tax-takings list with Planning and Assessing. Only then,
can we go to the Selectmen with our recommendations.
An EDIC sub-committee made up of Joe Noonan, Bob Cobuzzi, Robyn Simmons, and Terrie
Cook, will meet with Paul Neidzwicki, Chairperson of the Cape Cod Commission, at his office
near the Superior Court House Bank Building on Thursday, May 291h, at 12:00 p.m.
Joe met with Tom Mayo, Assistant Town Planner, who gave him pictures of businesses in the
Industrial Park and Great Neck Road, South. They reflect a trend of going upscale that will help
to change people's perceptions. The sub-committee will present the pictures to Paul Neidzwicki,
and ask him what is necessary to be approved by the Cape Cod Commission. Mr. Neidzwicki
will most likely want to know what type of business is going on the site. We are trying to save
developer fees that require a Cape Cod Commission approval.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, June 3`d, at 6:00 p.m. Bob Cobuzzi will not be attending.
In order to supplement the attendance, we need to have a phone available in the meeting room
with instructions to place a conference call. Bob Walsh requested this for this meeting, but no
phone nor instruction were available.
The meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
Maryelsthorpeg Secretary
