TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT/INDUSTRIAL CORPORATION MINUTES <br /> JULY 10, 2007 <br /> Present: Rene Read, Jim Willis, Joe Noonan, Bob Cobuzzi, Brian Kehrl (Mashpee Enterprise). <br /> Absent: Robyn Simmons, Richard Dalton <br /> Chairman Jim Wills called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. <br /> The Minutes of June 5, 2007 were moved and approved unanimously. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> 1) Renee will learn more about the $200,000 grant awarded to the Regional Technical District <br /> Committee. He will contact Marty Harper's wife who works in Falmouth Town Hall. Joe <br /> Noonan will e-mail Renee the information he has. <br /> 2) Invite Doug Storrs(Mashpee Commons) to our meeting to discuss land and their development <br /> ideas. They were looking into building a boutique hotel, small and expensive, but have not <br /> determined the need nor space. We can explore why the hotel idea is not working and the <br /> marketing survey results. Joyce Mason, Rene, or Terrie Cook can make the contact. <br /> 3) Cape Cod Healthcare is looking to expand their cancer treatment program. Would our piece <br /> of land across from the Free Care site be feasible? <br /> 4) We can explore alternate energy sites and possibilities (solar) with Megan Amsler of Cape <br /> Cod Self Reliance Corp. Do they know of companies who would like to locate here and produce <br /> solar panels? <br /> 5) EDIC needs to meet two times per month starting after Labor Day. Put this on the agenda for <br /> next month. <br /> 6) Meet with J. McGregor from the Mashpee Industrial Trust. <br /> 7) Add Bob Walsh to our agenda mailings. He will be a good contributor to this Committee. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> 1)Bob Cobuzzi and Joe Noonan reviewed their site visit to the Mashpee Industrial Park on June <br /> 1401. Mashpee Industrial Realty LLC owns most of the property. Renee will look into installing <br /> street signs identifying Commercial Street and Industrial Drive. Mercantile Way has four lots <br /> for sale. The contact is Charlie Rogers at 428-6106. <br />
