Finance Committee Minutes
Page 3.
February 10, 1988
Grounds Maintenance had been severely cut last year and DeMoura would
like to see it in place this year. Building maintenace is costly and needs
to be kept in place to keep the school up. The $400,000 on this budget summary
for building acquisition - modular classrooms, may be pulled out, however some
of this money will be required for the renovation of the classrooms at the present,
town hall. The total salaries figure $1,780,791 does include new staff, however
it does not include the new contract, and this could substantially increase
this figure.
Chairman Heller noted the school needs and the necessity of all the
school requests, however, there is only so much money to be divided among the
various town budgets. He asked the School Committee to make a priority list.
Carl asked the School Committee to make a list of what they could give up on this
budget with the least hurt. The Finance Committee will meet again in the future
with the School Committee.
The Finance Committee adjourned at 9: 15 p.m. Next meeting will be
February 19th at 4 p.m. at the town hall.
Gail McNabb
Secretary
