PERSONNEL BOARD MINUTES <br /> • MEETING OF NOVEMBER 1, 1982 <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were present for the meeting: Caroline <br /> Gilligan, Curtis Woodbury, David Hardy and Manuel Glickman <br /> Acting Chairman Gilligan called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. <br /> Swearing In of Manuel Glickman <br /> Mr. Glickman was officially sworn in as a member of the Personnel Board by the .Town <br /> Clerk. <br /> Acceptance of Minutes <br /> Curtis Woodbury made a motion to accept the minutes of October 25, 1982. Manuel <br /> Glickman seconded the motion. All present were in favor. <br /> Request for Board Secretary <br /> Jane LaBute appeared before the Personnel Board to explain her request for a Board <br /> Secretary to the Elections & Registrations Board. She said that she would need some- <br /> one for 15 to 20 hours a week during the day to do typing and to go out into the field <br /> and take the census. She told the Board that the money is in the budget and explained <br /> that they have always .lived within their budget. She told the Board that Jane Barthole- <br /> mew was being recommended for the position as she is familiar with the work and is <br /> currently working on a temporary basis during the day at the rate of $3.90 per hour. <br /> • Dave asked if she would be creating a new position. 'Jane replied that it would be. <br /> Curtis commented that it would have to go to town meeting. He requested that a job <br /> description be drawn up and.the needs of the department be defined. Jane asked how <br /> the other new boards got a secretary with the position not going to town meeting mak- <br /> ing reference to the Charter Commission and the Growth Review Committee. The Personnel <br /> Board could not answer her question. Jane told the Board that she would draw up a <br /> job description and also send a memo to the Board .of Selectmen on the subject. <br /> Retirement Buffet <br /> Curtis Woodbury mentioned that there would be a surprise retirement buffet for William <br /> Lammers, a former police officer. It will be held at Ma Glockners on Tuesday, Nov. 9, <br /> with a cocktail hour from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with dinner after the cocktail hour. <br /> Request for Clarification on Board.Secretary Rate - <br /> In a memo dated October 29, Charles Hicks, Director of Civil Defense asked for clari- <br /> fication on the rate for a Board Secretary. The secretary was asked by the Board to <br /> send a memo back stating that the rate is currently $5.47 per hour. <br /> Recreation Aide <br /> The Board was brought up to date on the situation of Wendy Rubin's request for a <br /> Recreation Aide, Level I. A memo was sent to the Selectmen asking for their advise <br /> on the subject. No reply has been received to date. <br /> New Clerical Contract <br /> A copy of the new Clerical Contract was received. A memorandum from the Executive <br /> • Secretary advising the Board that a meeting to review the contract and answer ques- <br /> tions will be held on November 9, 1982 at 3:00 p.m.. at the town hall. .Caroline and <br /> Curtis said that they would try to attend the meeting. <br /> I <br />
