PERSONNEL BOARD MEETING MASHPEE.TOWN HALL • MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 20, 1982 The following members of the Personnel Board were present for tonight's meeting: Caroline Gilligan, Curtis Woodbury and David Hardy. The meeting was called to order by Caroline Gilligan, the Acting Chairperson, at 6:10 p.m. Acceptance of Minutes Curtis Woodbury made a motion to accept the Personnel minutes of September 13, 1982. Dave Hardy seconded the motion. All members present were in favor. Resignation of Personnel Member - A letter of resignation dated September 14 was received from John Peters. Curtis made a motion to accept the resignation: Dave seconded the motion: All members present were-in favor. Candidate for Personnel Vacancy The Administrative Secretary from the Selectmen's office informed the Personnel secre- tary that Mr. Manuel Glickman was interested in filling the vacancy on the Board. The Board requested that the secretary find out from the Town Clerk if Mr. Glickman was a registered voter. They also requested that Mr. Glickman be asked to come in to meet them. • Senior Citizen Walking Trail The Personnel Board made a donation of $300 towards the purchase of a station for the Senior Citizen Walking Course. Part of the request was to guarantee the first station for the credit to the Personnel Board in order that a precedent be set for other town boards. In a memo dated September 17, Wendy Rubin told the Board that she did not see a problem in fulfilling their request and commended them for their action. Part-time Radio Dispatchers In a memo dated September 17, 1982, Curtis Frye requested the Personnel Board's con- sideration of creating the position of part-time radio operators that will be employed on weekends and during vacation and sick times of the regular dispatchers for both the Police Department and the Fire Department. Curtis Woodbury requested the secretary to find out if the dispatcher shifts at the Police Station were on a rotating basis. It was the general concensus of the Board that a position could not be created without vote of town meeting and the secretary was asked to schedule an appointment for Chief Frye to meet with the Board and explain the request. Agreement for Police Vacation Carry-over A copy of the signed agreement between the Town of Mashpee and the Mashpee Police Em- ployees Association regarding carry over of vacation time for police. officers was re- ceived and read by the Personnel Board members. The secretary informed the Board that she was not sure of who was covered under this agreement as there were police officers with less than three years on the force as well as police officers who had excess of vacation time beyond the twenty-four days allowedi to be carried over.
