PERSONNEL BOARD MEETING <br /> MASHPEE.TOWN HALL <br /> • MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 20, 1982 <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were present for tonight's meeting: <br /> Caroline Gilligan, Curtis Woodbury and David Hardy. <br /> The meeting was called to order by Caroline Gilligan, the Acting Chairperson, at <br /> 6:10 p.m. <br /> Acceptance of Minutes <br /> Curtis Woodbury made a motion to accept the Personnel minutes of September 13, 1982. <br /> Dave Hardy seconded the motion. All members present were in favor. <br /> Resignation of Personnel Member - <br /> A letter of resignation dated September 14 was received from John Peters. Curtis <br /> made a motion to accept the resignation: Dave seconded the motion: All members <br /> present were-in favor. <br /> Candidate for Personnel Vacancy <br /> The Administrative Secretary from the Selectmen's office informed the Personnel secre- <br /> tary that Mr. Manuel Glickman was interested in filling the vacancy on the Board. The <br /> Board requested that the secretary find out from the Town Clerk if Mr. Glickman was a <br /> registered voter. They also requested that Mr. Glickman be asked to come in to meet <br /> them. <br /> • Senior Citizen Walking Trail <br /> The Personnel Board made a donation of $300 towards the purchase of a station for the <br /> Senior Citizen Walking Course. Part of the request was to guarantee the first station <br /> for the credit to the Personnel Board in order that a precedent be set for other town <br /> boards. In a memo dated September 17, Wendy Rubin told the Board that she did not see <br /> a problem in fulfilling their request and commended them for their action. <br /> Part-time Radio Dispatchers <br /> In a memo dated September 17, 1982, Curtis Frye requested the Personnel Board's con- <br /> sideration of creating the position of part-time radio operators that will be employed <br /> on weekends and during vacation and sick times of the regular dispatchers for both the <br /> Police Department and the Fire Department. Curtis Woodbury requested the secretary to <br /> find out if the dispatcher shifts at the Police Station were on a rotating basis. It <br /> was the general concensus of the Board that a position could not be created without <br /> vote of town meeting and the secretary was asked to schedule an appointment for Chief <br /> Frye to meet with the Board and explain the request. <br /> Agreement for Police Vacation Carry-over <br /> A copy of the signed agreement between the Town of Mashpee and the Mashpee Police Em- <br /> ployees Association regarding carry over of vacation time for police. officers was re- <br /> ceived and read by the Personnel Board members. The secretary informed the Board that <br /> she was not sure of who was covered under this agreement as there were police officers <br /> with less than three years on the force as well as police officers who had excess of <br /> vacation time beyond the twenty-four days allowedi to be carried over. She told the <br /> Board that upon talking to the Executive Secretary, he would have Attorney. Gilman ex- <br /> plain it. <br />
