PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MINUTES OF AUGUST. 9, 1982 <br /> • <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were present for the meeting: Robert <br /> Sullivan, Chairman, Caroline Gilligan and Curtis Woodbury. <br /> Also present at the meeting was David Hardy, a candidate for the position of the <br /> Personnel Board vacancy. <br /> Chairman Sullivan called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Appointment of Fire Chief <br /> James Priestly was appointed by the Board of Selectmen for the position of Fire Chief. <br /> A physical will be scheduled for Mr. Priestly at the Falmouth Medical Associates as <br /> per the request of the Executive Secretary. <br /> Recreation Aide <br /> Based on the Personnel Board's recommendation of hiring Andrea Raymond as a Recreation <br /> Aide, as well as Wendy Rubin's recommendation, the Board of Selectmen voted to appoint <br /> Miss Raymond at their meeting of August 4. Miss Raymond is to be paid at the rate of <br /> $5 per hour and will work during the month of August as a tennis instructor. <br /> Vacation Time for Wendy Rubin <br /> • The Board of Selectmen voted to authorize the vacation request of Wendy Rubin to take <br /> vacation time on September 2,' 3, and 7. The Personnel Board denied this request at <br /> their meeting of August 4. <br /> Up-Grading of Position <br /> A copy of a letter dated August 5 to the Board of Selectmen from Barbara Hammond re- <br /> questing that Marilyn Hendricks' job be up-graded to that of Payroll Administrator was <br /> read 'into the minutes. . <br /> Call Firefighter <br /> A letter dated August 2 from the Executive Secretary regarding the Personnel Board's <br /> decision not to recommend that John Malone, Jr. be appointed was read into the minutes. <br /> The Board took the matter up at their last meeting and voted to maintain their original <br /> decision to let the new Fire Chief make his recommendations. <br /> Vacancy on Personnel Board <br /> The Board members voted unanimously to recommend David Hardy for appointment to fill <br /> the vacancy on the Personnel Board. <br /> Injury of Paul Frazier <br /> In a note dated July 29, 1982 from Doctor Robert Prothero, the Personnel Board was <br /> notified that Paul Frazier injured his knee while off duty from the Fire Department <br /> and will not be returning to work until August 9. Sick time for this injury will be ' <br /> deducted accordingly. <br /> • Dog Officer/Natural Resource Officer Interviews <br /> From 6:45 p.m. through 7:30 p.m., interviews were conducted for the position of Dog <br /> Officer/Natural Resource Officer. Three applicants were chosen to be interviewed as <br /> follows: Janet Carpenter, Glenn Pontes .and David Fitzgerald. Of the three applicants <br /> interviewed, it was the unanimous vote of the Personnel Board to strongly recommend <br /> David Fitzgerald for first consideration and Glenn Pontes for second consideration. <br />
