PERSONNEL BOARD MINUTES OF AUGUST. 9, 1982 • MASHPEE TOWN HALL The following members of the Personnel Board were present for the meeting: Robert Sullivan, Chairman, Caroline Gilligan and Curtis Woodbury. Also present at the meeting was David Hardy, a candidate for the position of the Personnel Board vacancy. Chairman Sullivan called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Appointment of Fire Chief James Priestly was appointed by the Board of Selectmen for the position of Fire Chief. A physical will be scheduled for Mr. Priestly at the Falmouth Medical Associates as per the request of the Executive Secretary. Recreation Aide Based on the Personnel Board's recommendation of hiring Andrea Raymond as a Recreation Aide, as well as Wendy Rubin's recommendation, the Board of Selectmen voted to appoint Miss Raymond at their meeting of August 4. Miss Raymond is to be paid at the rate of $5 per hour and will work during the month of August as a tennis instructor. Vacation Time for Wendy Rubin • The Board of Selectmen voted to authorize the vacation request of Wendy Rubin to take vacation time on September 2,' 3, and 7. The Personnel Board denied this request at their meeting of August 4. Up-Grading of Position A copy of a letter dated August 5 to the Board of Selectmen from Barbara Hammond re- questing that Marilyn Hendricks' job be up-graded to that of Payroll Administrator was read 'into the minutes. . Call Firefighter A letter dated August 2 from the Executive Secretary regarding the Personnel Board's decision not to recommend that John Malone, Jr. be appointed was read into the minutes. The Board took the matter up at their last meeting and voted to maintain their original decision to let the new Fire Chief make his recommendations. Vacancy on Personnel Board The Board members voted unanimously to recommend David Hardy for appointment to fill the vacancy on the Personnel Board. Injury of Paul Frazier In a note dated July 29, 1982 from Doctor Robert Prothero, the Personnel Board was notified that Paul Frazier injured his knee while off duty from the Fire Department and will not be returning to work until August 9. Sick time for this injury will be ' deducted accordingly. • Dog Officer/Natural Resource Officer Interviews From 6:45 p.m. through 7:30 p.m., interviews were conducted for the position of Dog Officer/Natural Resource Officer. Three applicants were chosen to be interviewed as follows: Janet Carpenter, Glenn Pontes .and David Fitzgerald. Of the three applicants interviewed, it was the unanimous vote of the Personnel Board to strongly recommend David Fitzgerald for first consideration and Glenn Pontes for second consideration.
