Personnel Board Minutes <br /> Meeting of .November 19 , 1990 Page 2 <br /> Holiday Pay <br /> Ben Lofchie advised the Board members that the question has come up with <br /> regard to holiday pay for employees who work between 15 hours and 19 <br /> hours weekly . He commented that he had discussed this with the Personnel <br /> Assistant , who felt they should be paid for the holiday and not have to <br /> make up the hours if they normally worked on a day that a holiday fell . <br /> Jane Stockbridge commented that she thought this was addressed in the Plan <br /> specifically stating that non-standard part-time employees were not eligi <br /> ble for holiday pay . <br /> The Personnel Assistant said that she had reviewed the P . A .P . and saw <br /> language dealing with regular employees receiving their regular week ' s <br /> pay for the week in which that holiday falls . She said thatnon-standard <br /> part-time .employees fell. under the definition of a regular employee . <br /> Jane Stockbridge commented that she was sure that this was addressed in <br /> the P .A .P . specifically stating that non-standard part-time employees <br /> were not eligible for holiday pay . <br /> The Personnel Assistant commented that there are some employees being <br /> paid for the holiday and others were not . ' tp # <br /> The Board tabled further discussion on holiday pay until the next meeting <br /> as Jane Stockbridge wanted to .review the P..A . P . . and the recommendations <br /> that were made for non-standard part-time employees `. <br /> ( Note : A few days after the meeting , JaneStockbridge telephoned the <br /> Personnel Assistanticommenting�on the fact ,that, Page .' 15 of the P .A .P . has <br /> language which states that non-standard part-time employees will not be <br /> entitled to receive hol'iday 'pay) . ' . ' ' ' <br /> Form Number for PositionDescriptions <br /> Jane Stockbridge recapped on the previous meeting when the Board voted to <br /> adopt a new format for position descriptions . She said that it was dis- <br /> cussed at that time to have form numbers on the position description . <br /> Jane advised the Board that the department is currently using numbers 201 <br /> and 202 on Personnel forms . She recommended that Form #203 be used for <br /> the position description along with a date . <br /> After some discussion , Ben Lofchie moved to put a "P" before each personnel <br /> form number -. Leo commented that a "P" is good for the Personnel Department <br /> and he seconded the. motion . All were in favor . Ben Lofchie moved to ac- <br /> cept P203 for position descriptions . Leo Turo seconded the motion . All <br /> were in favor . <br /> Library Needs Support - Computer and Staffing <br /> The Personnel Assistant advised the Board that she and Jane Stockbridge <br /> attended a meeting at the Library . . They are looking for support from <br /> various town boards for their article coming up at the Annual Town Meet- <br /> ing which deals with funding for the Library to become a member of CLAMS <br /> (which would allow Mashpee residents to access materials in other lib- <br /> raries by computer ) . The cost for the first year would be $15 , 000 . The <br /> Personnel Assistant said that a presentation was made explaining the <br /> CLAMS operation , cost and benefits and a hands-on demonstration was con- <br /> ducted at the Cotuit Library .
