Be'n ,Lofchie , ,Leo .Turo and <br /> Jane Stockbridge . ..• " ,�- ' ` <br /> ate! r <br /> Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting at 6 : 00 p .m . <br /> Evaluation of Doug Boyd <br /> After review of Doug- Boyd' s ='annual evaluation , - Manuel Gli�c�kman moved to <br /> accept the evaluation . . Ben Lofchie seconded . All in favor . <br /> Evaluation of Mae Lofchie <br /> After review of Mae Lofchie ' s annual evaluation , Leo Turo moved to accept <br /> the evaluation . Manuel Glickman seconded . ( Ben Lofchie abstained ) . All <br /> other members in favor . <br /> Meeting With Executive Secretary re : Reorganization <br /> Chairman Sullivan asked Kevin Harrington to elaborate to the Board what is <br /> on his mind regarding the in-terviewing process . <br /> Kevin Harringtontold the Board that he has no problem with the Board mem- <br /> bers being present at interviews . <br /> Chairman Sullivan commented that by . having the Personnel Board members at <br /> interviews , they can control the tempo . Ben asked if the interviewing will <br /> be done with a member of the Personnel Board? <br /> Kevin Harrington recapped on the fact that he has been with the town four <br /> to five months and observing . He said that he has looked for overall <br /> policies and goals that the ,town had established and could not find. any . <br /> He commented that Department Heads are working ona number of varied ac- <br /> tivities and there is no coordination between departments . He commented <br /> that each group is doing work but wondered how they related to fit. inan <br /> overall policy area . Kevin said that the Board of Selectmen should estab- <br /> lish objectives that people can aspire to . They recentfi;y voted and adopted <br /> proposed goals and objectives . - <br /> . Kevin went on to say that they translate individual work programs . The. <br /> Board of Selectmen are in a position to director guide day-to-day activi- <br /> ties . <br /> .Kevin explained that he is planning to sit- down with Department Heads to <br /> outline a work program based on policy statements from the Board of Select- <br /> men to increase efficiency . - <br /> Kevin told that Board that we should have direction and leadership and an <br /> overall relationship of common goals . <br /> With regard to disagreements arising in the interviewing process , he said <br /> that he is not opposed to what, they. can work out . . . He said that he islook- <br /> ing to try to get the Board involved in areas of policies . He would like <br /> to develop program of volunteers and have the Personnel . Board develop the <br /> policy . <br /> Manuel Glickman suggested that Kevin find out where his goals differ from <br /> what they are already doing . <br />
