'resent: Elisa Meunier Linda Young Ron Roberts LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING October 18, 1994 TOWN HALL Absent: Also Present: George Costa Gus Frederick Maureen Paxton MaryAnne Gibbs I. Opening of Meeting - The meeting opened at 6:35 PM in the Conference Room of the Middle School II. Secretary Report - MaryAnne Gibbs made a motion to approve the minutes of September 7, 1994, Maureen seconded this motion. Motion Carried. III. Reports - A. Old Business 1. Revised By -Laws - Mission Statement: Includes Human Services; This should remain as we do service some of these needs. Membership - Maryanne suggested if we expand to maybe include principals. Commission used to have 9 members - Suggestion was made to mail copy of minutes to principals. Principal will be asked to be on committee in future. Meetings - Section G #4 of Old by -Laws - Keep in mind for every application has to go through Superintendent's Office &Building Principal Scheduling - We need central scheduling for building usage - How shall it be done. How can we get rid of this School Committee /Leisure Service problem. It was suggested that some of the members will go to School Committee to discuss building usage on 10/19. Final draft will be November 1 - 6:30 PM 2. Financial Assitance Draft - Will be approved November 1, 1994. 3. High School Building Update - designed as 192, approved by Selectmen to be 400 Sq. ft. for Leisure Service Dept. Pool questions discussed. There is 58% reimbursement now; we are trying to get 75%. 4. Oktoberfest - Great event - $225.00 made on pumpkin and tootsie roll pull. We ran out of pumpkins. B. New Business - Cooperative Programs - We are looking for instructors for after school. We have a couple of volunteers for chess and cooking class for 5th grade. Woodworking instructors are needed.
