LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING <br />November 1, 1994 <br />TOWN HALL <br />Present: Absent: Also Present: <br />Elisa Meunier Ron Roberts Gus Frederick <br />Linda Young MaryAme Gibbs <br />Maureen Paxton <br />George Costa <br />I. Opening of Meeting - Ellsa Meunier opened the meeting at 6:39 PM in the <br />Middle School Conference Room. <br />II. Secretary Report - Maureen made a motion to approve the minutes of <br />October 18, 1994. Linda Young seconded. Motion carried. <br />III. Communications - Department of Education - Request for proposal. <br />A. 70 - 100K average for developing Adult Basic Education programs <br />325-425K for support - Basic Ed <br />25-300 K - Grants to be awarded for 1996 <br />Application in by January 27, 1995 for 1996. George said he feels the <br />Grant Consultant can help to write this. <br />B. Gus Frederick, Tom Fudala (from Planning), Jim Long (COA) & Gordon <br />Harris are looking into a Transportation Grant through Cape <br />Cod Commission for residents - especially transportation for the youth <br />in town. <br />IV. Reports - <br />A. Old Business <br />1. By -Laws - <br />a. Principals will be asked to attend and/or become members of <br />the Committee. Or may alternate attending Leisure Service <br />Advisory Council. A suggestion was made to change time to <br />accommodate them. A suggestion to hold the meeting at 4:30 <br />on the first Tuesday was made. <br />b. It was suggested that the Committee meet with Selectmen and <br />School Committee to go over by-laws and approve and sign by-laws <br />by all parties involved. <br />c. By Laws will be reviewed again next month. <br />2. Financial Assistance Form - to be reviewed at next meeting. <br />3. Together We Can - Will reorganize a meeting will be held November <br />3 and November 10 at 7:00 PM at the Mashpee Middle School. <br />(check Doug Storrs - possible use of building on Great Neck Road, <br />South (Church). <br />
