Present: <br />MaryAnne Gibbs <br />Linda Young <br />Nancy Caffyn <br />Elisa Meunier <br />LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MARCH 1, 1994 <br />Absent: Also Present: <br />Ronald Roberts Gus Frederick <br />Maureen Paxton Al Posi <br />Linda Young opened the meeting at the Middle School Conference Room at 7:07PM. <br />,% :-f•� a i. <br />Linda Young made a motion to approve the Minutes of February 1, 1994. Nancy <br />Caffyn seconded. Motion carried. <br />A. Youth Commission - Gus mentioned that the Youth Commission is being finalized and <br />a slate of appointees will be presented to the Selectmen at their March 21st meeting. <br />The Youth Commission would then be invited to attend the next Leisure Service Advisory <br />Council Meeting on April 5th.. <br />B. Operating Budget - The Proposed Operating Budget for the Department was still in the <br />process of being finalized. Presently, the selectmen have approved a figure of $24,005 <br />for Department expenses. This figure represents moving our capital requests into our <br />Expense Account, as most of the request are deemed equipment needs. <br />C. Club 58 - Gus reported that seven students are attending on Mondays and Thursdays <br />with an expected expansion to 5 days possibly in April. In addition, we are looking to <br />move 4th grade students to the Club 58 program to better service and accommodate both <br />Kids Klub After-school and Club 58. <br />D. Haigh School Update -A discussion took place on the facilities at the high school to be <br />built. Gus put together. an estimate package for operating costs for a swimming pool, and <br />contacted other areas to see their costs for a swimming pool. Gus discussed income and <br />expenses of operating a community pool (size, usage). Nancy Caffyn mentioned school <br />usage of a pool and how that would be utilized. <br />Gus discussed plans for the Forum that would be held on March 8th. <br />A. Spring Brochure - <br />Gus passed out a copy of the rough draft of the spring brochure. The final brochure will <br />be mailed out next week. Gus complimented the work that Jim Marr has done in <br />
