LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORV COUNCIL MEETING A 1 GY T 5. 1997 6:30 P.M. MASHPEE TOWN HALL Present: Absent Also Present Sheila Arnold Ken Marsters Louise Doyle Kim Whitney Pat Riley Gus Frederick Pat Antonellis Joleen Schultzabarger Terrie Cook V OPENING - Sheila Arnold opened the meeting at 6:40 p.m. II MINUTES - The minutes of the meetings held in May and July will be approved in September. III COMMUNICATIONS - Oktoberfest: October 11. 1997 Memo re August 27th meeting re food vending for food court (hopefully 4 or 5 different vendors this year) Discussion re Oktobernight Dance (fundraiser). Gus will send out ::acre i uo.-mation re Oktoberfest and possible dance. Facilities INave- Discussion with Louise Doyle re draft on Facility Usage Recommendations that could be rectified to go to a vote. (See draft) #1. Agreed to add "C) 3 working days for teachers" #2 Recommendation: Get a key to cafeteria door. #3 Recommendation: Get a chain of command from Mr. Petrowski #4 Recommendation: Invite Gus to meetings (starting with August 26th) #5 Recommendation: 1) Set something up for high school, and 2) (re energy audit) Nancy Allen (COM/Electric) gas us figures (sq. Footage X .0024) to go to Dr. DeMoura. #6 Recommendation: Sept. 2nd meeting? To get back to us. #7 Recommendation: Basically, guidelines re procedures/cancellations. #8 Recommendation: To receive monthly calendar by last week of month would be helpful. MRPA Trained Professionals letter• Gus indicates that although this licensing is justifiable, he feels that we need to be exempted from OFC licensing . Ouanset Hut: Not much that can be done; manpower and building condition are an issue. Rec. Plan: Human Services not being developed as part of the plan right now. Gus. Maureen & Kim met a couple of weeks ago and worked on a redesign of key component yeas. Meeting again on 8/13. Summer Programming: Gus: Karen Berube helped out for 2 weeks in Summer Programs. Close to 100 in the last session; Adventure club/KidsKlub surplus $ has been good. Attaquin play group didn't really attract much (only 2 kids involved), but cookout was productive. Pat Antonellis questioned the possibility of a toddler play area.
