LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 9, 1997 <br />MASHPEE TOWN HALL - 6:30 PM <br />Present: Absent: Also Present: <br />Sheila Arnold Ken Marsters Gus Frederick <br />Kim Whitney Joleen Schultzabarger <br />Pat Riley Pat Antonellis <br />Terrie Cook <br />I Opening -Sheila Arnold -opened the meeting at 6:36. <br />11 Minutes - Kim Whitney made a motion to approve the May, July, and August <br />Minutes of Meetings. No quorum was in attendance at this time. So approval <br />will have to be at next meeting. <br />lII Communications - A meeting will be set up by the Town Accountant to discuss <br />the Custodial Account. The auditor came to our department to check our records <br />regarding custodian account. A meeting is needed so we know who is responsible <br />for that account. <br />Terrie Cook would like to see a meeting set up among Sheila Arnold, Terrie <br />Cook, Gus Frederick, Bob Whritenour and Dr. DeMoura to go over the <br />agreement. Would like Gus Frederick to write a memo to everyone regarding this <br />meeting. <br />Gus Frederick mentioned that we are moving forward regarding replacing Betty <br />Jones. Gus mentioned that he put in for more staff in his budget and was rejected. <br />IV Old Business - <br />a. Gus mentioned that three individuals will be coming on board as building <br />supervisors in the evening. Quashnet Valley and High School five nights per <br />week. This will help out with Friday Night Sports. This will begin the end of <br />October. <br />b. Program Overview - Information on our camp programs. The income and <br />expenses for our camp programs indicated a $300.00 profit for Kids Klub <br />Summer Camp. A loss of $1,300 for Summer Activities and Adventure <br />Camp. However $2,500 was received from Neighborhood Support Coalition, <br />and there is still $1,300 in that account. We may use those for scholarships <br />for Kids Klub After-school. A number of children received camperships and <br />did not attend. Our largest week was 75 kids. <br />
