Present: <br />MaryAnne Gibbs <br />Linda Young <br />Nancy CaHyn <br />Elisa Meunier <br />Maureen Paxton <br />IV <br />V <br />LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING <br />APRIL 5, 1994 <br />Absent: Also Present: <br />Ronald Roberts Gus Frederick <br />Youth Committee Members: <br />Deborah Dami <br />Lewis Farwell <br />June Forni <br />Josephine Granucci <br />Gordon Harris <br />Catherine West <br />Maureen Paxton opened the meeting at the Middle School Conference Room at 7:00 PM. <br />Welcoming Youth Commission Members - Gus welcomed everyone and all members were <br />introduced. <br />RUEMNIFTEX-11111 <br />Maryanne Gibbs made a motion to approve the Minutes of 3/1/94. Nancy Caffyn <br />seconded. Motion carried. <br />JTEC - Gus will attend a workshop on April 19. Funds have been cut slightly. The <br />program this summer will be six weeks instead of eight weeks. Leisure Service <br />Department will look into reinstating its Y.E.S. program. This program matches youth <br />with employment prospects. <br />Youth Councils - Comm. Task Forces - Gus has been attending Youth Council monthly <br />meetings. He would like to expand on the youth commission by establishing a council <br />consisting of youths between 12 and 18 years of age. <br />The next Human Services meeting will be on 4/13/94 at the Senior Center from 12 to <br />2:00 PM. Gus provided the report prepared by the facilitator of the March 9th meeting. <br />1. Operating Budget - The Leisure Services Dept. 1994 budget is presently <br />$147,035.00, while the Board of Selectmen and FinCom recommendation for <br />1995 is $159,732.00. <br />A brief discussion took place on food concessions for the town beaches. <br />
