Leisure Services Advisory Council Meeting <br /> January 30, 2007 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> 6:30 PM <br /> Present: Carol Mitchell, Liz Hendricks, Becky Romkey, Doug Goff, Christine Willander, <br /> Peggy Geary, Don Myers, Gus Frederick <br /> Opening—Meeting started at 6:30 PM <br /> Minutes — Gus passed out Minutes dated December 19, 2006. <br /> Membership—Gus mentioned that he will contact Bob Tippo about becoming a member <br /> of the Leisure Services Advisory Council. <br /> Communications—This year we did a mailing of our fall/spring brochure to all residents. <br /> We will do another mailing of a synopsis of the classes being offered. Christine <br /> Willander is filling in for Heidi who is on maternity leave. <br /> Old Business —Programming—Gus gave an update on the winter programs. Swimming <br /> programs are doing well. We are working around the schedule at Seamist. The <br /> • <br /> Swimming Program used the Holiday Estates last week because Seamist was having a <br /> new Jacuzzi put in. We would like to use Holiday Estates again. Trip to Boston <br /> Symphony went well with 24 attending. Most of the craft classes are full as well as the <br /> Spanish class. Youth Soccer is doing very well. <br /> Kids Klub Preschool Programs and School-aged programs— Gus passed out a copy of <br /> the Profit and Loss printout for preschool. Peggy Geary mentioned that we have some <br /> voucher people, but we do have to limit the number as we are not reimbursed the total <br /> amount of our $45.00 daily rate. We also have space limitations. Open house to]- <br /> preschool <br /> orpreschool will be March I" from 2:00—4:00 PM and from 6:00— 8:00 PM. March 17 <br /> will be the second St. Patrick's Day breakfast. Peggy is accepting donations. There will <br /> be more raffles this year. Gus passed out Revolving Account report for January, 2007. <br /> Gus passed out copy of camp information form for early sign ups and also a copy of the <br /> actual camp registration form. Gus would like to find someone to oversee the Counselor <br /> in Training program. Don Myers wanted to know if this would qualify for students' <br /> community service project. Prices for the camp are still not finalized at this time. Early <br /> sign up discount is being offered. There is still a $25.00 nonrefundable deposit. We have <br /> to get an idea on the numbers for staffing purposes. <br /> Facility and Field Use—Christine Willander and Gus Frederick met with Tedi Marsh <br /> who would like to do an activity at high school auditorium as the Boch Center is not <br /> around any more. Doug Goff would Like to meet with Gus to go over some ideas. Tedi <br /> Marsh feels that some of the costs for using the facilities are too high. Christine <br />
