She would like to
see kayaking promoted more in town and also would like to see a pass for parking set up.
Heidi McLaughlin mentioned that all the classes went well during the summer. Multi-
sports had 80 children and the 5K run went well. Gus Frederick mentioned that we had
fewer swimmers this year because there was another event that took place on the same
clay. We had a sponsor this year, and we will have them again next year. The most
difficult thing is people who register the day of the event. Doug Goff suggested some
kind of incentive to get people to sign up early.
•
Heidi mentioned that many of the Lifeguards and Gate Attendants have returned to
school. There were no major issues this year.
A discussion on food service took place.
A discussion on Preschool took place. Gus Frederick mentioned that the school made
$26,000. A new gas stove, a new dishwasher, new rugs, and a new copy machine are
being installed.
Special events were discussed. October Ob is the Oktoberfest and this year a l OK road
race on the same day. December 6°i is the Christmas Parade. Lorraine Murphy and
Carol Mitchell volunteered to help out at Oktoberfest.
Gus passed out a Park and Recreation Community Survey for everyone to review.
THE NEXT MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE SEPTEMBER 25, 2007, AT 4:00 PM AT
THE TOWN HALL.
