** All members were in favor 6-0**
** Paul made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for payment a few invoice for
Chartwell through March 23'for$19,009.03. Merry Sue seconded the motion.
Paul explained that this will go down next month because Jim will only be working part time.
Karen will be here full time through April. Ian will fill in as needed.
** All members were in favor 6-0**
Dr. DeMoura explained that he has bill from the gas company totaling$42,000. He was under
the impression that Stone was responsible for the utilities until substantial completion. The
school department was forced into taking over the electric bill on January 14 or the electricity
would have been shut off.
Paul said Stone is responsible for utilities until substantial completion, which has not happened
yet. He suggested the Committee pay the bill but send it to Pat Costello (town counsel) who will
then notify Stone's attorney. This is one of the first things we will take off of the amount owed
to Stone. The Committee wants Pat Costello to take a strong stand on this.
** Paul made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for payment $42,639.43 to Colonial
Gas (he asked Jim to hold the payment voucher until Paul tells him to release it).
Merry Sue seconded the motion. All members were in favor.
***
Keyboard drawers: some of the casework in the science labs is not deep enough for monitors and
keyboards. Because of the decorative trim it would be difficult to add a shelf underneath for the
keyboard. The network administrator suggested a unit that the computer would sit on top of and
the keyboard sits in a drawer which acts as a shelf.
Peter asked if Manny Tavares didn't know how deep the computers were when designing the
casework?
Steve said this casework was not designed for computers, they were not intended as computer
work stations. It is only in the science labs.
Paul told John Williams to order a few, as many as they need to get by now and bring the bill to
the Committee.
***
Dr. DeMoura again stated his concern about maintenance of the lawns and fields. When the
weather changes the grass that is planted will begin to grow and it will look terrible without
maintenance.
Paul asked Dr. DeMoura to talk to the vendor they have contracted with and ask him to work on
a time and material basis during this litigation period. We will know by May 15"where we
stand.
Joel said SMMA is prepared to issue the substantial completion certificate. They now have most
of the O & M manuals. Stone has agreed to hold back a portion of that $80,000 line item for the
remaining manuals. The date of the certificate will be March 17th. It will NOT include the track
surface, the athletic fields, the epoxy flooring and wheelchair lift.
Paul said he agreed.
All warranties will start as of that date.
