MASHPEC' OFFICE <br /> Present: Paul Griffin, Merry Sue Ahlgren, Peter Dinizio, Janice Mills, Joe Polito <br /> Also Present: Ian Aitchison, Jim Byrne, Dr. Lincoln DeMoura, John Williams, Joel Seeley <br /> Mr. Griffin began by noting that committee members had been re appointed by selectmen on <br /> June 23, 1997. <br /> Minutes & Housekeeping <br /> Mr. Griffin motioned that the minutes of the previous meeting of May 17, 19997 be accepted. <br /> Mr. Polito seconded the motion. <br /> Mike Day/Day Signs <br /> Mr. Byrne called upon Mike Day from Day Sign to outline some ideas to keep the students from <br /> removing the letters of the sign at the school's entrance. Included were the following suggestions: <br /> 1.) steel letters; 2.) carved sign; 3.) removing wall and sandblasting stone. Mr. Dinizio suggested <br /> checking with design review before making a dramatic change. Mr. Byrne made note of same. <br /> He also suggested he could have the letters installed in a way in which they could not be removed. <br /> Mr. Griffin requested Mr. Day draw up a sign using letters with backing. He will prepare a <br /> sample. <br /> School Committee <br /> Teresa:Why isn't there a hook up between Mr. Cook's computer& school? <br /> Mr. DeMoura: Johnson Controls has lines installed. <br /> Mr. Griffin: Modem or Building Control System? <br /> Teresa: To tie into lap top-the "dial up". <br /> Mr. DeMoura: It's about $2,500.00. <br /> Mr. Griffin: That's already been approved. The quote from Johnson was received & approved. <br /> Mr. DeMoura: Will proceed by using purchase order from his office. <br />
