Page 2
Kathy: Can the fields be used in September:
Mr. Griffin: Yes.
Kathy: When will which fields be ready?
Mr. Griffin: Believes all fields will be ready in September. Some will be in better condition than
others. Landers is in better shape than Stone. Some of the Stone fields are good too. The
mounds have some problems. It's being addressed by Jim. Some dressing up of infields will be
done. Overall fields are in good shape for this time of year. The football field is not ready today.
The track is being coated. They will be ready by fall.
Kathy: Will there be bleachers for baseball or softball?
Mr. Griffin: There was no plan for bleachers. There is no plan for that.
Mr. DeMoura: Are movable sections a possibility?
Mr. Griffin: Will consider but doesn't think it will be approved. Spent more money than wanted
already.
Kathy: Was very surprised. The fields are important as high school level.
Mr. Griffin: There was a lot of money spent in the area of irrigation. Based on what he's heard
from the selectmen, there's no more money for the outside.
Kathy: Why isn't there electricity for pitching machines or announcers?
Mr. Griffin: Many schools use generators.
Teresa: What about the area around the treatment station. She had heard the pumps had to be
replaced because of sand getting into the tanks.
Mr. Byrne: Pumps were changed and there is grass around them.
Teresa: Will the problem happen again?
Mr. Griffin: Will put stone around. Are investigating with architect.
Teresa: Concerned about these maintenance problems coming out of their budget.
