ti
There was discussion that faculty should be consulted to identify their thoughts on what
can be done for academic improvement.
One faculty member discussed the district math course that several staff members are
currently attending. There was discussion that staff is dedicated to improvement.
There was discussion that time should be given to see how 7&8th grades progress, before
any new changes happen.
Mr. Babbitt spoke about positive hopes for the changes that have happened, and
commended the Committee and Mrs. Bradshaw for their vision.
There was a comment from the audience that funding could be impacted as the high
school was originally designed as a junior and senior high school building. Mrs. Grady
stated that she was unaware that the building had ever been structured in this manner.
She stated this would be taken under advisement.
Mrs. Bradshaw stated that Ms. Lugo will lead the Restructuring Working Committee.
There was discussion of who should comprise the working committee. Mrs. Grady
suggested that Mr. Babbitt have staff representatives from 7th and 8th grade, as well as a
representative from grades 9-12. There was discussion to try and have representatives
from each building. There was discussion that the group may need to be larger to
accommodate more parents. It was decided to try and have a good representation of
parents from each building on the committee.
The meeting concluded at 6:05 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Gail Hannan
School Committee Recording Secretary
