GRADING (REPORT CARDS) <br /> Report cards are issued three times a year at the preschool through grade two level. The <br /> reports are provided to inform both you and your child about progress being made. They <br /> serve as a formal record and help promote communication between the home and the <br /> school. The report card is sent home with the children and may be kept at home. It does not <br /> need to be returned to school. <br /> Report Cards Issued: <br /> Preschool through Grade Two <br /> November, March, June <br /> Teachers may, at their discretion, send home academic progress reports at any time to <br /> indicate ongoing concerns or exceptional improvement. <br /> PRESCHOOL PROGRESS REPORTS <br /> Work Sampling On-Line is completed three times yearly. The following domains are <br /> assessed: <br /> Personal and Social Development, Language and Literacy, Mathematical Thinking, <br /> Scientific Thinking, Social Studies, the Arts and Physical Development and Health. <br /> These domains are rated as in process, proficient, not applicable and not observed yet. <br /> GRADING SYSTEM FOR KINDERGARTEN <br /> S = Skills Consistently Demonstrated T =Time and Support Needed to Develop <br /> M =Making Good Progress X =Not Assessed at this Time <br /> (Only used on November report) <br /> The following categories are included: Reading/Writing Development, Oral Language <br /> Development, Other Subjects, Mathematics, Work Habits, Physical and Motor <br /> Development, and Social and Emotional Development. <br /> Parent conferences are scheduled by individual teachers at appropriate times throughout <br /> the year. <br /> GRADING SYSTEM FOR GRADES ONE AND TWO <br /> Consistently <br /> Usually <br /> Sometimes <br /> The following categories are included: Reading/Language Arts, Math, Science, <br /> Environmental Studies, Art, Physical Education, Library, Integrated Arts and Life Long <br /> Learning Skills. <br /> 19 <br />
