Curriculum Sub-Committee Meeting Minutes
October 2, 2012
Present: Debra Goulart, Phyllis Sprout, Dave Bloomfield
Meeting began at 3:10.
The meeting was opened by the Curriculum Director and the members discussing the
Common Core expectations.
Ms. Sprout asked the following questions:
*How many Mashpee students have to take remedial classes? She is researching
this and will report back.
*How many towns and districts in Massachusetts use CMP?
Middle School math was discussed—the plans moving forward include doubling the
math coach's time at that school, getting PD for the math coach for CMP, bringing
consultant Paula Sennett in to assist, and revamping standards-based assessments.
Mr. Bloomfield wants to know how many students are enrolled in electives, such as
culinary arts, music, art, etc.
The next meeting is scheduled for November 20, 2012 at 3:00 in the office of the
Curriculum Director.
The meeting concluded at 4:05.
Respectfully submit[ y Deb Goulart
