Congreg!g of the oniteb btateg
Jbouoe of Repregeutatibeg
Wa0bington, MC 20515
WILLIAM KEATING
9TH DisrRict,MASSACNUSErrs
MEMBER OF CONGRESS
February 27, 2013
Ms. Elaine Pender, Principal
Kenneth Coombs School
152 Old Barnstable Road
Mashpee, MA 02649-3232
Dear Ms. Pender,
I wanted to thank you for your participation in my 2nd Annual Love Our Troops
campaign, to bring Valentine's greetings to troops all over the world, and veterans right
here in Massachusetts. Thanks to your participation, we were able to collect over 8000
Valentine's greetings, all hand-made by the schoolchildren of the Ninth Congressional
District.
We distributed these greetings to those serving the United States overseas with the
help of Cape Cod Cares For Our Troops, which has been sending care packages to
American soldiers, sailors and Marines on active duty for eight years. We had so many
Valentines that we were able to give some to the veterans seeking medical attention at the
Brockton VA Hospital as well.
Please pass along my sincere gratitude to the children who created these
greetings, and the teachers and staff who worked to make this project such a resounding
success! It is so important to remember those who are making such a sacrifice to
preserve our freedoms, and you and your students did just that through your work on the
Love Our Troops campaign.
Sincerely,
William R. Keating
Member of Congress
