Old Business <br /> • Review School Improvement Goals 2009/2010 <br /> o No one was present from Pre-K or K <br /> o Grade One and Grade Two met their goals for last year <br /> o The Lexia Program is installed for all classrooms and is being <br /> used by most teachers and support staff. <br /> o Literacy activities were extremely successful with the students. <br /> PTO provided books for everyone, Mashpee Reads and <br /> assembly were huge motivators. <br /> VI. New Business <br /> • Everyday Math <br /> o Kathy Penney reviewed the Everyday Math program. <br /> Second grade is adjusting to it but teachers are concerned that <br /> students are not acquiring skills. It will be a process for all of <br /> us to learn that the skills will be spiraled back through the <br /> curriculum throughout the year. <br /> o Elaine Pender mentioned that Mary Kate O'Brien will be in <br /> the building for Math Coaching on Tuesdays and Thursdays <br /> and teachers should take advantage of the support to help them <br /> implement the math program. <br /> • Opening of School (September 2010) <br /> Elaine Pender said that the opening of school at KCC went very <br /> smooth this year due to all staff working together. <br /> • Book Fair <br /> Liz Vieira would be willing to run the Book Fair again. <br /> She will look into what company Quashnet is using this year. <br /> She mentioned that the breakfast was a problem last year. There was <br /> too long of a line at Book Fair and they lost some business.
