KENNETH C. COOMBS SCHOOL
SCHOOL COUNCIL
TUESDAY,FEBRUARY 15,2011
Minutes
Meeting called to order:
Attendance: Donna Zaeske, Elaine Pender,Patti Kenny, Deb Greene, Kathy Penney,
Elizabeth Wilber, Dan O'Neil, Cara Eaton, Elizabeth Vieira
• Public Comment- None
• January Minutes approved
Old Business:
• Announcements and Updates:
• Budget Update: Superintendent Bradshaw came to KCC and talked with the PTO
last week regarding the budget. She feels pretty optimistic that services for
students will be similar to this year. She will keep staff and parents updated. A
teacher questioned whether or not there would be money in the budget for a
behavioral classroom teacher and if there would be a full time replacement for
both KCC and Quashnet libraries when Diane Kingsley retires (currently there is
a half-time librarian for each building).
• School Web Site: KCC will have its own website. We hope to have general
information in it such as notices, calendars and events. We are hoping once we get
it up and running we will be able to get creative with it.
• Dan O'Neil—PTO Food Fest will be held on"The Green" which is across from
the Mashpee Public Library. Town hall is being very helpful to the PTO. There
will be a meeting held on March 8th to gather parents to help out with this event.
The PTO voted to use the bonus money from the Scholastic Book Fair held at
KCC to purchase books for the KCC Guided Reading Library. It was noted that
The GR Library needs many levels and is in great need of high-interest non
fiction books for grades K-2.
