� P <br /> Quashnet River School Council <br /> Meeting Minutes OCT i,� <br /> October 8,1997 r! c� <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Those in attendance: <br /> Louise Doyle, Lucinda McKay, Anne Shackett, Alyce Shadan, Nancy Bowes, <br /> Donna McCaffery, Sandra Reichel, Carol Russell, Joe Cuzack, Rebecca <br /> Bingham, Ryan Lovely <br /> No one spoke at public forum. <br /> Council meetings will be held the second Wednesday of each month from <br /> 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Quashnet library. <br /> A list of council members, addresses, and phone numbers was handed out. <br /> Student members Ryan Lovely and Christie Morgan were added to the list. <br /> Reports filed to the Department of Education were discussed. These <br /> included Time in Learning, Drop Out Report, Exclusion and Suspension, and <br /> Student Enrollment. <br /> Student Enrollment <br /> As of October 1 , there was an increase of 50 students at the Quashnet <br /> River School reported. This included the new kindergarten class. In the <br /> past week there was an increase of five additional students bringing the <br /> present enrollment to 349. State funding is based on enrollment as of <br /> October 1 . <br /> Exclusion and Suspension <br /> There were no students excluded or suspended for more than 10 days. <br /> Time in Learning <br /> All time in the school day is included as time in learning except for: <br /> recess-25 minutes <br /> lunch-25 minutes <br /> time to pass to special classes-2 minutes <br /> Council members were introduced. Parent terms will be for two years. <br />
