SIP Strategies <br /> We reviewed the strategies for each goal on our School Improvement Plan. Changes have <br /> been noted. The updates will be made, and the revised SIP will be distributed at our next <br /> Council meeting as well as to the Quashnet School staff. <br /> 2. Parent/Student Handbook—Updates for 2010-2011 -- -To be updated: <br /> Cover— — ----- -- _-- <br /> Table of Contents <br /> 2010-2011 School Calendar—page 1 <br /> Staff—page 2 <br /> Replace with new mission statement—page 3 <br /> Transfers—page 7—add"Residency in Mashpee is required to attend the Quashnet School., <br /> Health—no changes per Quashnet School nurse Pat Soares <br /> Academics (Report Cards)—page 13—changes to reflect trimesters <br /> Academics (Homework)--page 14---remove"Homework will be considered part of the <br /> student's grade." <br /> Academics (Recognition for Achievement)—page 14—changes to reflect trimesters <br /> Academics (Parent Conferences) –page 14—remove=usually following the first term of the <br /> school year." <br /> Academics (Other Programs)—page 14—Change specials listed; add section <br /> describing the after-school programs provided by the Quashnet School or <br /> combine with section described as sponsored by Mashpee Recreation Dept. <br /> Academics (Remedial Reading)—page 15—remove this section and replace with <br /> paragraph describing intervention block model <br /> Regulations/Policies—pages 16-22—no changes noted at this time <br /> Wellness Policy—pages 23-25—may be updated to address latex allergies <br /> 3. Trimesters for 2010-2011 School Year <br /> Results of parent survey: <br /> 112 surveys were received back (525 students) = 21% response <br /> 92 surveys were in support of trimesters = 82% of those who responded <br /> 19 surveys did not support trimesters = 17% of those who responded <br /> 1 survey requested more information = 1% of those who responded <br /> We will pilot a trimester report card schedule for the 2010-2011 school year. Progress <br /> reports will be issued at the midpoint of each term. <br />
