Overview of 2010 MCAS student performance(SIP Goals#1 and#2) <br /> 2009-2010 SIP Student Achievement Goal#1 (ELA English/Language Arts) <br /> A. Not achieved—Our 2010 aggregate CPI(Composite Performance Index)is 87.7. This is a.9 increase from <br /> 2009. However,it is 2.5 points below the 2010 state target and Quashnet target of 90.2. <br /> B. Not achieved—Our 2010 special education subgroup CPI is 67.4. This is a.2 decrease from 2009. Our goal for <br /> this subgroup was a CPI of 87.6—still below the state target for this group of 90.2. Our 2010 special education <br /> subgroup CPI remains well below the state target. <br /> C. Not achieved—The total number of students who scored in the"Warning"performance category in ELA <br /> increased rather than decreased from 2009 to 2010. <br /> Aggregate 2009 Warning: 4.6% <br /> Aggregate 2010 Waming: 6% <br /> 2009-2010 SIP Student Achievement Goal#2(Mathematics) <br /> A. Not achieved—Our 2010 aggregate CPI(Composite Performance Index)is 81.4. This is a 1.7 decrease from <br /> 2009 and 2.9 points below the state target of 84.3. Quashnet's target CPI for 2010 was 86.1. <br /> B. Not achieved—Our 2010 special education subgroup CPI is 61.2. This is a 3 point decrease from 2009. Our <br /> goal for this subgroup was a CPI of 84.3—the state target for this group. <br /> Our 2010 special education subgroup CPI remains well below the state target. <br /> C. Not achieved—The total number of students who scored in the"Warning"performance category in <br /> mathematics increased rather than decreased from 2009 to 2010. <br /> Aggregate 2009 Warning: 8% <br /> Aggregate 2010 Warning: 90/a <br /> 9. Development of 10-11 SIP Goals <br /> o We discussed changing the format for our two academic achievement goals(ELA and Mathematics) <br /> Goal must be measurable <br /> Maintain connection to MCAS performance <br /> Move from CPI data to individual student performance—gains in MCAS scaled scores <br /> Grid format behind each goal will be changed—more streamlined <br /> o Prior to our next School Council meeting,I will email to each member a draft School Improvement Plan ELA student <br /> achievement goal and a draft Mathematics student achievement <br /> o Non-student achievement SIP goals(drafts)will also be emailed to Council members prior to our next meeting. <br /> o Timeline-2010-2011 SIP must be completed by early November(finalize at our next meeting) <br /> o Brief Report on SY09-10 and SY10-11 SIP Goals will be given at the 12/8/10 School Committee meeting(Patty) <br /> 10. Other <br /> A. Do non-school members of the Quashnet School Council need to complete the Massachusem Conflict of Interest <br /> Training?(Mrs.Bradshaw is checking on this.) <br /> B. Can MaryKate O'Brien's Everyday Mathematics parent presentation(power point)be posted to the district's website? <br /> Yes,we are moving forward to share MaryKate's presentation via our website. <br /> C. Within the next month,we will schedule an Everyday Mathematics parent presentation during the school day--maybe <br /> this will work better for some parents'schedules—alleviating,for some, the need for childcare. <br /> 11. Please email topics/ideas upon which you'd like the 10-11 Council to focus.
