project can oly be extended 1 year after the date it opens.
Therefore the equipment would have to be bought 1 year after
Sept. 1. We may want to purchase enough for the 96/97 year and
then look at the budget again next July to equip the balance of
the school.
The prices for the fields are a good price. The theater lighting
and duel fuel are not a good prices.
The fencing is also in the alternates.
Peter asked what a realistic number for theater lighting is?
Paul said even $183 ,000 is still high.
Steve thinks that is 3 times what it should be.
Paul said it may cost more to put the site lighting in at a later
date.
Steve said the Committee could write an RFP for a design/build
for the duel fuel system and go the the Commission ourselves with
proposed changes.
Peter suggested accepting the base bid and alternates 1 , 2 and 3 .
That will leave $550 , 00 in the budget and the Committee will
eventually do the auditorium lighting and duel fuel when they get
better prices.
The Committee will ask Joel to provide details for the theater
lighting and duel fuel systems for July 16th meeting so it can be
I;
discussed in more detail .
Merry Sue asked if the acid neutrilization tank issue has been
resolved?
Paul does not know.
Because they did not have the back up information, or details on
these bids , the Committee did not take a vote to accept the bid.
They will meet Monday, before the Selectmen' s meeting, at 6:00 at
the Senior Center.
Joe said the humidty feels good in the building but record
keeping of humidity levels should continue. Controlling the
humidity after we take control of the building could be a money
issue.
Joe said this Committee should insist on maintenance for the
carpets. We don't know what is in the cleaning contract .
Paul has suggested that a facilites Committee be established for
operations and maintenace of all town facilites.
NEXT MEETING MONDAY, JULY 8 6 :00 P.M. SENIOR CENTER
Meeting adjourned at 5 : 30 p.m.
Minutes submitted by Arden R. Cadrin
3
