MASHPEE HIHG SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE
FRIDAY, JULY 5 , 1996
HIGH SCHOOL SITE
Present: Bill Martiros , Merry Sue Ahlgren, Joe .Polito, Steve
Grelish, Paul Griffin, Peter Dinizio
Meeting convened at 4 : 05 p.m.
The Committee reviewed the bids for the additional fields and
road work.
PA Landers had the low bid:
$209 ,000 for base bid; $197 ,000 for alternate 1 ; $52 , 000 for
alternate 2 ; $186 ,000 for alternate 3 .
The Committee tried to determine what the alternates included.
(They did not have backup information) The base bid is the road
work and sidewalk. Alternate 3 is site lighting .
Greg Taylor told Paul that he has had no problems working with PA
Landers.
The Committee then discussed any outstanding items they hope to
add to the project and the overall budget - funds remaining.
Change for technology is $307 , 000, including fireproof curtain
and theater lighting . Committee has not yet approved it.
Duel Fuel estimate is $150 , 000 .
Technolgy bids have not been completed.
Merry Sue said she condsiders site ligyting as icing on the cake.
It could always be done later by the boosters. We have approval
now for duel fuel by the Commission.
Steve thinks we should go back to the Commission and offer an
alternative suggestion of putting the tank closer to the
building . That is safer than plumbing it across the entire
property.
Steve would like to see the details of the auditorium lighting .
Paul said the proposal for $207 , 000 , is way out of wack.
Paul said the Committee should decide , individually what they
feel comfortable spending down to and also prioritze what
additional items they want to see included.
Paul wants to see at least $363 , 000 held.
Peter reviewed the list of options to add to the project:
- duel fuel - $150, 000
- road work, $209, 000 required by the Commission
- alternate 1 , fields on south end $197 , 000
- alternate 2 , fields on north end $52 , 000
- alternate 3 field lighting for football , basketball and tennis
$186 , 000
1
