G.L. at the site of <br /> the proposed, 4.6 ogre private shellfish grant of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal <br /> Council, Inc. The proposed grant is located on the south side of Goosebury <br /> Island in Popponessett Bay. <br /> The survey was conducted by Division biologists on May 23 and Jun 1, 1977. <br /> It was found that the intertidal area consisted of soft-firm sandy mud while f <br /> the subtidal area consisted of soft mud and heavy. growth of marine vegetation <br /> mainly Zostera marina and a <br /> green alga, Enteromorpha s�. <br /> T . <br /> � The survey was accomplished using standard <br /> gear such as box rakes, tongs <br /> and bull rakes. Transects across the area as well as random samples were <br /> taken. In total, 180 samples were taken through the entire area revealing an <br /> average of 0.385 shellfish (all types) per square foot.
