The Finance Committee recommends $10,000 be appropriated <br /> but that action on funds for the engineering services be <br /> deferred until firm proposals have been solicited, re- <br /> ceived, and reviewed. <br /> These school repairs were included in the capital <br /> budget. While no engineering proposals have been <br /> received, an estimated maximum of $25,000 is needed <br /> to evaluate the roof and prepare specifications for <br /> rehabilitation. Inspection by a roofing consultant <br /> has indicated the asphalt roof has "blistered" in <br /> several areas. <br /> Article 11: <br /> To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer $117,000 from <br /> the Stabilization Fund to purchase and equip four trucks for the <br /> Department of Public Works, <br /> Motion to appropriate and transfer $117,000 Y om the Stabilization <br /> Fund. . .motion carries on an unanimous vote. .. . . . . . . . . . . . .8:49. p.M. <br /> The four new trucks would consist of a dump truck <br /> with plow and sander, a one-ton dump truck with <br /> plow and sander, a four-wheel drive one-ton pickup <br /> truck with plow, and a four-wheel drive, five-passen- <br /> ger truck. With the exception of a pickup truck, <br /> no new vehicles have been purchased for the depart- <br /> ment this decade. <br /> Article 12: <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate $16,155.33 to <br /> meet -the Town ' s share of the cost of work under Chapter 90 of the <br /> Massachusetts General Laws; and further, to authorize the Town to <br /> borrow, in anticipation of reimbursement, the sum of $48,666 as the <br /> cost of work under Chapter 90 of Massachusetts General Laws, being <br /> funded by Chapter 140 of the Acts of 1985, or take any other action <br /> relating thereto. <br /> Motion to raise and appropriate $16, 155-33. . . .-motion parries. . . . .8:5OP.M. <br /> This article annually appears on the town meeting <br /> warrant and allows the Town to use state money <br /> allocated to cities and towns for local road improve- <br /> ments.
