Article 29 : <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from <br /> available funds $2, 250 to continue the diagnostic feasibility study of <br /> Ashumet Pond in conjunction with the Town of Falmouth, and to <br /> authorize the Board of Selectmen to apply for, receive, and expend <br /> without further appropriation funds from the Commonwealth for said <br /> purpose, <br /> In 1984, Mashpee joined with Falmouth in funding <br /> a study of Ashumet Pond with the state providing <br /> the bulk of the money. The final report of that <br /> study in January indicates a need to continue with <br /> the study to identify the sources and movement of <br /> contamination located above the pond. There is <br /> evidence of a hydrocarbon plume entering the cran— <br /> berry bog near the pond.
