Meeting reconvened May 2, 1995 at 7:10 p.m. <br /> 195 voters present <br /> Article 4. <br /> To see if the Town will vote to create the part-time position of Administrative Clerk to the <br /> Personnel Department, Grade 4, Step 1 of the Personnel Administration Plan for nineteen hours <br /> weekly and to raise and appropriate $9,371 with said funds to be distributed as follows: $8,705 <br /> to the Personnel Part-Time Salary Account and $666 to the Medicare Account, or take any <br /> another action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted.by the Personnel Board <br /> Explanation: The Town's Personnel Department is directly impacted as other departments <br /> continue to grow with additional personnel. Personnel needs cannot be met with current <br /> staffing. The Personnel Department continually strives to streamline operations. We must have <br /> an increase of hours in support staff in order to achieve department goals and priorities and to <br /> improve greater efficiency. i.e., centralizing all documents, review of town policies, continuing <br /> the annual review of job descriptions and rating of town positions. This action will make the <br /> department more cost effective. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Mills. <br /> i <br /> I move the Town vote to create the part-time position of Administrative Clerk to the Personnel <br /> Department, Grade 4, Step 1 of the Personnel Administration Plan for nineteen hours weekly and <br /> to raise and appropriate $9,371 with said funds to be distributed as follows: $8,705 to the <br /> Personnel Part-Time Salary Account and$666 to the Medicare Account. <br /> Motion passes at 7:13 p.m. <br /> Article 5. • <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds the sum of <br /> $8,074 to create a limited part-time Driver position under Appendix B of the Personnel <br /> Administration Plan at the Council on Aging, Grade 6, Step 1, with said funds to be distributed <br /> as follows: $7,500 to the COA Salary and Wage Account, $574 to the Medicare Account, or <br /> take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Council On Aging <br /> Explanation: The Council on Aging is seeking grant funding for a van to transport seniors and <br /> disabled citizens to Town Meetings, shopping trips, doctor and hospital appointments, special <br /> trips, rides to the Senior Center and volunteer opportunities, etc, throughout Town. This driver <br /> position will be used to operate said van on an as needed basis for routine and non-routine <br /> schedules. The position will operate an average of 14.5 hours per week and is necessary to help <br /> validate the grant request. <br />
