Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Dinizio. <br /> I move the Town vote to raise and appropriate $121,930 to the Firefighters Salary Account to be <br /> distributed as follows: $99,247 to the Firefighters Salary Account, $21,107 to the Health <br /> Insurance Account, $1,440 to the Medicare Account, and $136 Group Insurance Account. <br /> Motion passes at 7:20 p.m. <br /> Article 8. <br /> To see if the Town will vote to create a Leisure Services Child Care Coordinator position, Grade <br /> 4, Step 1 of the Personnel Administration Plan, to be funded through the Leisure Services <br /> Revolving Account, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Leisure Services Director <br /> Explanation: This article creates the position of Child Care Coordinator for the Leisure <br /> Services Department which is necessitated due to the increased program participation <br /> experienced by the Department; including Pre-School and After-School Child Care, Summer <br /> Camps, and planned Before-School Child Care. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Mills. <br /> I move the Town vote to accept Article 8 as printed in the warrant except for the phrase, "or take <br /> any other action relating thereto." <br /> Motion passes at 7:31 p.m. <br /> Article 9. • <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds the sum of <br /> $8,841 to create a 19 hour Circulation Assistant position, Grade 3, Step 1, of the Personnel <br /> Administration Plan with said funds to be distributed as follows: $8,211 to the Library Salary <br /> and Wage Account, $630 to the Medicare Account, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Library Trustees <br /> Explanation: The Library has not added a new position since 1988. Since that time, circulation <br /> and usage of the Library has increased from 34,976 circulation transactions per year to 72,151 <br /> transactions in FY94; an increase of 106%. In the current year, FY95, circulation transactions <br /> will surpass 80,000 items. The Library has delayed asking for additional staffing over the last <br /> several years because of the difficult funding situation facing the Town, even though the <br /> increasing volume of circulation would have justified the request. The Library cannot continue <br /> to provide the same level of services without additional staffing. Adding an additional position <br />
