1 <br /> pay all other costs incidental and related thereto, and that to meet this appropriation, the Treasurer, with the <br /> approval of the Selectmen, is hereby authorized to borrow said sum under and pursuant to Chapter 44, Section 7 <br /> (3)of the Massachusetts General Laws, or any other enabling authority, and to issue bonds or notes of the Town <br /> therefor, that the sum of$400 is hereby raised by taxation and applied to the Issuance of Debt Account in <br /> connection with the issuance of bonds or notes hereunder; that the Board of Selectmen and the Conservation <br /> Commission are each authorized and directed to apply for and accept any and all Federal, State or County <br /> grants that may be available for acquisition of the aforesaid property and that the Board of Selectmen and the <br /> Conservation Commission are each hereby authorized to enter into agreements and execute any and all <br /> instruments as may be necessary or convenient in connection with the aforesaid land acquisition. <br /> Motion passes at 9:24 p.m. <br /> Article 24 <br /> I <br /> To see if the Town will vote to transfer the custody and control of those parcels of land shown on the 1997 <br /> Mashpee Assessors' Maps as Map 110, Blocks 67, 70 and 71, containing approximately 32.25 acres, to the care <br /> and custody of the Conservation Commission,pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40, Section 8C, <br /> or take any other action related thereto. <br /> I <br /> Submitted by Conservation Commission <br /> and Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This article would designate 32.25 acres of tax taking land owned by the Town, located south of <br /> Red Brook Road and west of Great Oak Road, adjacent to the so-called"Bufflehead Bay"property recently <br /> purchased by the U.S. Fish &Wildlife Service, as Town conservation land. The land is located within the <br /> boundaries of the Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge and within the "Zone II"recharge area of the Mashpee <br /> Water District's#2 and#3 wells, which are located 1500 feet southeast of the property. <br /> Recommendation: Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> i <br /> Motion made by Ken Marsters. <br /> i <br /> i <br /> Motion: I move Article 24 be voted as printed in the warrant, with the exception of the phrase, "or take any <br /> other action relating thereto." <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 9:24 p.m. <br /> Article 25 <br /> j <br /> To see if the Town will vote to accept Chapter 71, Section 71F of the Massachusetts General Laws, to establish <br /> a separate account for the purpose of depositing tuition monies received from Special Education Shared <br /> Programs. The receipts from this account shall be expended by the School Committee for special education <br /> Purposes for non-resident students and/or students who are foster care children, or take any other action relating <br /> thereto. <br /> Submitted by the School Committee <br /> Explanation: This article seeks to place funds collected from other school districts for the education of special <br /> needs students into special needs account funding special education expenses. The Mashpee School Committee <br /> feels it is advantageous to save money by providing programs in our own town. <br />
